  Ferry service to Mackinac Island stopped the first week of February and after one week of only being able to fly to Mackinac Island, the ice bridge from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island formed. Here are some shots from the winter boat this past week.  During the winter, the Mighty Huron boat, aka 'Slow Boat' goes across the Straits of Mackinac from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island. Since it’s slightly shorter from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island, the boat just runs from St. Ignace from November 1st and not from Mackinaw City.
