Another season on Mackinac is here!  We are SO excited! Have you ever wondered what the Straits of Mackinac looks like during the winter season? Here are some shots from the winter boat this past week.  During the winter, the Mighty Huron boat, aka 'Slow Boat' goes across the Straits of Mackinac from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island. Since it’s slightly shorter from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island, the boat just runs from St. Ignace from November 1st and not from Mackinaw City. Before it was a state park, it was a national park - being the nation’s second national park! The Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau has a lot more information on this on their website, here! Mackinac Island State Park has over 70 miles of trails and roads for you to explore by bike, horseback or foot.
