Winter on Mackinac Island is probably different than anything you have ever experienced! It can take a little while to adjust to the winter on the island, but once you do, you love it with all your heart!

This year on February 1st and March 7th, there is an awesome experience happening - the Fort Mackinac Turtle Trek! Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau said this about the event: “A unique lantern-lit cross country ski and snowshoeing event on 2 miles of the island’s immaculately groomed trails. Trail begins at Greaney Grove, located next to Fort Mackinac.” Be sure to bring your own cross country skis and meet the group at the starting location at 5:30 PM!

What an exciting way to see Mackinac Island in the beautiful winter snow. Don’t miss out on this fun community event.

Looking for somewhere to stay or eat while you are on the island this winter? Click here to visit the Tourism Bureau’s list of businesses that are open during the winter months.

Don’t forget, there are just 99 days until Little Luxuries (our sister shop!) is open for the 2020 season - and we will open soon after. We can’t wait to see you!
