What’s on your 2020 Bucket List? We’ve picked out 20 cool ideas of things around the State of Michigan we think you should add to your list!

  1. Plan a trip to Mackinac Island: Obviously we had to include this, but have you visited Mackinac Island for the opening weekend? It’s definitely quieter than visiting in July, but just as fun! There is excitement in the air for all that is about to happen for the new season!

  1. Visit the five parks that are operated by the National Park Service in Michigan: Pictured Rocks, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Isle Royale National Park, River Raisin National Battlefield Park, Keweenaw National Historical Park.

  2. Visit Kitch-iti-kipi: This is the most beautiful natural spring in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan! If you have kids, they will love to go across the spring on the glass bottomed boat, looking at all the fish!

  3. See the Northern Lights: Michigan is home to one of the International Dark Sky Parks! Headlands Dark Sky Park is located outside of Mackinaw City and can have just the right view of the Northern Lights (weather permitting!)

  4. Kayak or Canoe to Turnip Rock in Port Austin, Michigan.

  5. Drive the Tunnel of Trees to visit Good Hart, Michigan and some beautiful Lake Michigan beaches!

  6. Find a Petoskey Stone in one (or all!) of the Great Lakes.

  7. Visit Mackinac Island for the Lilac Festival, June 5th - June 14th.

  8. Visit all the Great Lakes - Have you been to all of the Great Lakes? Make it a goal this year to visit each Great Lake - and maybe be brave enough to swim in each one!

  9. Cherry Picking in Traverse City - maybe even during the Cherry Festival that happens each summer!

  10. Visit historic Fishtown in Leland!

  11. Camp in the Porcupine Mountains in the Upper Peninsula.

  12. Visit the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.

  13. Bike the Little Traverse Wheelway from Charlevoix to Harbor Springs, which totals 26 miles! Be sure to stop along the way for sweet and savory treats in Downtown Petoskey!

  14. Join a Sip N’ Sail Cruise from Mackinac Island that goes under The Mackinac Bridge!

  15. See the colors change at Tahquamemon Falls.

  16. Walk across the Midland Canopy Walk.

  17. Cross the Mackinac Bridge.

  18. Canoe the Au Sable River for a fun day trip!

  19. Visit The Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie.

These are 20 things that we would love to do this year around the State of Michigan! Have you made a 2020 Michigan Bucket List - if so, what’s on your list?
