What is your favorite thing to do in the fall?

If we had to choose a favorite thing to do each fall, it would be taking a walk outside in the crisp fall air, looking at all the leaves changing!

A few of our favorite places to take fall walks are:

Pond Hill Farms: They have great walking trails in the back of their property that make for great spots to see the leaves! There are so many colors to observe that it makes for a beautiful and peaceful walk in the woods.

Leslie Avenue: We’ve written about Leslie Avenue before, how it’s one of our favorite trails on Mackinac Island! Start at Arch Rock and walk along Leslie Avenue to the Mackinac Island Airport for peace and quiet and the most beautiful path in the woods, where you can still hear the roll of the waves every once in a while!

Petoskey State Park: So many people overlook Petoskey State Park’s trail system! We know that the Little Traverse Wheelway is incredible, but don’t forget about the quieter trails in this state park! It’s the perfect spot for some peace and quiet, along with fantastic views when you get a little higher up in elevation.

Hike up to Fort Holmes: So many people never venture to the inside of Mackinac Island and only stick to Main Street and M-185. Next time you’re on Mackinac Island (especially in the fall) head up to Fort Holmes. The leaves changing along with the views of the Great Lakes are incredible and worth the hike up there!

These are just 4 of our favorite spots in Petoskey / Mackinac Island. Tell us, what’s your favorite fall hike? We want to make sure we hit the trails this fall and explore a little bit more!
