Have you ever wondered what the Straits of Mackinac looks like during the winter season? Here are some shots from the winter boat this past week. During the winter, the Mighty Huron boat, aka 'Slow Boat' goes across the Straits of Mackinac from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island. Since it’s slightly shorter from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island, the boat just runs from St. Ignace from November 1st and not from Mackinaw City. Did you know that every season, different Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops come to work at Fort Mackinac and stay in the Barracks on the Fort grounds?
