Artists You'll Love: Dani Knoph

Dani Knoph

We are always excited to talk about Dani Knoph - a northern Michigan artist who is passionate about the outdoors and art (two of our favorite things!) Read on to see how Dani got her start in painting and why we think her work is a perfect addition to any Canvas & Paddle customer home.

Dani Knoph

Having grown up spending summers in Gaylord and Kalkaska, Dani gives northern Michigan credit to where she developed a passion for observing wildlife and her love of being in nature. She studied art and design at the Penny Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan and the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. After graduating, she began working at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle, Washington. During these years, salmon and trout species became the primary subject matter of her artwork. She researched artists and thinkers of the natural history era. Her first collection was shown and sold at Urban Hardwoods in Seattle. She now has her roots in northern Michigan where her studio is located in Elk Rapids.

When we came upon her work, we knew it would be a great fit for Canvas & Paddle. The colors, technique and skill she uses in her paintings are something to be treasured and we believe our customers need a Dani Knoph painting in their home or cabin. Whether you are a fisherman or woman or just appreciate a fine art, look for Dani's work to complete any room or serve as great gift to a loved one.

Make sure to keep an eye out for Dani's work this season on the island at Canvas and Paddle, or shop our online store: www.canvasandpaddle.com/shop-home
